I hit the ground over 50 years ago when my parents introduced me to conservative politics. Then, when I turned 18, I registered to vote as a Republican, and have been so my entire voting life. My first vote was in the 1978 United States elections held on November 7, 1978, to elect the members of the 96th United States Congress. The election occurred in the middle of Democratic President Jimmy Carter's term. My first presidential vote was for the Republican President Ronald Reagan. 

Since the beginning, I have volunteered on numerous campaigns, from local candidates to the Presidency.

On August 9, 2014, I hosted a fundraiser for the local and state-wide judiciary candidates at my home, where attendance (candidates and guests), and money raised exceeded expectations. According to the Mecklenburg GOP Chairman (and now NC Senator) Brad Overcash; "I can personally attest that you made that one of the most successful fundraisers in N.C. that cycle. It was a fantastic event. Thank you for your service then, now, and in the bright future."

In September 2014, I was honored to be appointed as an Executive Committee member of the NCGOP 9th Congressional District. Since 2021, I have continued serving as an NCGOP 8th Congressional District Executive Committee member At-Large first, then as a member based upon my position as the Vice-Chair of the Union County Republican Party.. I continue to work and volunteer for Judicial, Local, State, and Federal campaigns.

I am a 2015 graduate of The Institute of Political Leadership Fellowship and a 2016 graduate of The Institute for the Public Trust. I am also a graduate of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department's Citizens’ Academy. 

In 2019, Republican friends and I initiated the Hornet's Nest Republican Men's Club. As a Founding Director (front row, blue tie), I was able to continue supporting many local, state, and federal campaigns. 

As Electioneering Committee Chairman for the Hornet’s Nest Republican Men’s Club, I coordinated a late-cycle fundraiser for US 8th Congressman Dan Bishop for his 2024 campaign for NC State Attorney General. Funds raised exceed expectations by 400%.

I served as the Vice President of the Hornets’ Nest Republican Men’s Club until Spring of 2025, when I was asked to run for the Union County GOP Vice-Chair.

I have traveled and attended the NC House of Representatives sessions in 2024 and 2025. I was honored that Speaker Tim Moore (2024 session) and Speaker Destin Hall (2025 session) extended floor privileges during these sessions. I have attended committee meetings. I have met with NC House Representatives I have known for years, as well as new members, staff, and the Sergeant at Arms. I have been encouraged by our current and past Federal, State, and Local elected officials.

In 2025, I was asked to run for the Union County GOP Vice-Chair. I considered the request to be a great honor. I declared and ran for the Union County GOP Vice-Chair office. My nomination at the County Convention was not contested. I was elected and continue to serve, including being a member of the District and State Executive Committees by virtue of my office.

I am always striving to learn more and be prepared to better represent those who would entrust me with these great responsibilities and honor.
