I have been working towards serving in the North Carolina House of Representatives, District 55, for three and a half years since moving from Charlotte to Monroe approximately 4 years ago. In 2024 and 2025, I traveled to Raleigh and the NC State Legislature to learn policy, procedure, and the cadence of the NC House. I have attended committee meetings and built relationships on both sides of the aisle. US 8th Congressman Tim Moore (while serving as Speaker of the NC House) extended floor privilege, as did our current leader of the House, Speaker Destin Hall.
Recent legislation has aimed to significantly restrict local land-use planning and regulation, ridding local municipalities of their zoning authority. These bills have motivated voters in NC House District 55 to contact me, asking me to please run and represent the district. I am known as a strong but fair man who pledges to help prevent government overreach and promote transparency in governance, while utilizing a combination of checks and balances, public engagement, and legal and ethical safeguards.
I currently serve as your Union County GOP Vice-Chair and one of your NCGOP 8th Congressional Executive Committee members. I am a member of the district and state executive committee by virtue of my office as Union County Vice-Chair. When I was asked to serve as your Union County GOP Vice-Chair, I resigned as the Vice President of the Hornet's Nest Republican Men's Club, of which I am a Founding Director. I am a Fellow of The NC Institute of Political Leadership and The Institute for the Public Trust.
I am thankful to be part of this community. I continue to learn about our everyday needs as I attend the Anson County Board of County Commissioners Meetings, the Union County Board of County Commissioners Meetings, and the Monroe City Council Meetings.
I notified both County GOP Chairs of Anson County and Union County in 2024 and the newly elected Union County Chair in 2025 of my intention to pursue this plan to serve. What continues to impress me most are the countless volunteers I have met through my involvement with Union County GOP and Anson County GOP. All levels of volunteers came together for a mission to elect Conservative Republicans from the local level to The White House.
I am prepared to give our District 55 the attention it deserves. I am asking for your prayers, consideration, and vote so I may represent you in the North Carolina House of Representatives, District 55.
