Professional Experience

I earned my BSBA from Appalachian State University with a concentration in Marketing. After graduation, my early professional experience includes working in various industries. I am a small businessman and entrepreneur. 

Previously, I was the Manager-Member of my family's Real Estate LLC, where I was able to petition and receive (at that time) the largest private grant from the City of Charlotte to improve their commercial holdings in east Charlotte – to improve the Central Avenue corridor.

Today, my privately-owned real estate firm is Powell Real Estate Services (PRES), where I work from my home office in Monroe, serving businesses and residents in Anson, Union, Mecklenburg, and Iredell Counties. As the Broker-In-Charge of my business, I am licensed to practice real estate in North Carolina and South Carolina. I am also a Certified Background Screened Mobile Notary Signing Agent. 

In 2024, after 20 years, I decided to retire as a State-Certified General Real Estate Appraiser.
